…and just like that spring 2026 kidding was over! Horrible weather with ice, snow, wind and brutal cold, coupled with doe after doe kidding within a 72hr period drove our infrastructure to near collapse. Kidding season for us has typically been a 2 month affair – slow and steady. We use some dedicated stalls in our maternity barn, but generally does kidding unassisted and requiring little to no isolation time for bonding with newborn kids. That all went out the door with single digits and wind…and of course quickly way more does than available stalls. With a lot of hard work, we made it through into warmer weather with hints of green popping up!

Most all kids have been posted to our website with a number already spoken for and some headed to new homes from Floyd Co. and Nelson Co. all the way out to Northern Virginia. Check them out and be sure to reach out with any questions at all!!
